Living or traveling outside the U.S.?
If you are living abroad or planning a trip outside the U.S., this is what you need to know about contacting us by phone, using your online account, receiving your OPERS benefit and using OPERS health care coverage while out of the county.
Retiree Health Care
Non-Medicare retirees enrolled in the OPERS Retiree Health Plan can contact OPERS at 1-800-222-PERS (7377) with questions about their plan. OPERS retirees participating in a Medicare plan through the Connector should contact Via Benefits™ at 1-844-287-9945 with any questions.

Member-Directed and Combined Plan Participants
If you have questions specific to your Member-Directed Plan or the defined contribution portion of your Combined Plan, call the OPERS Help Line at 1-866-OPERS-4-U (1-866-673-7748) between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
You can fax certain documents into OPERS. The correct fax number will depend on what documents you're planning to send, so it's important to contact us first.
We recommend sending us a secure message through your online account detailing which documents you're planning to fax. We will then respond with the fax number you should send it to.
Members can also call 1-800-222-PERS (7377) to speak with a representative and receive the correct fax number.
You can access your personal account information 24/7 through your OPERS online account. It's a secure and convenient way to view your account, update personal information and connect with OPERS. You can even send a secure message through your online account and it will be answered by one our Member Services Representatives.
You can also schedule an appointment to see a counselor in person during our office hours by logging into your online account. Select the “Tools and Resources/Seminars and Counseling” option.

The OPERS office is located in the heart of downtown Columbus – Ohio's capital city – blocks away from the Ohio Statehouse. Free parking is available in the OPERS garage, and metered parking is available on either side of our building on Town and Rich streets.
