OPERS offers its members three retirement plans so you can choose the one that best meets your retirement needs and goals.
How to Select Your Plan
New members have 180 days to select a retirement plan. OPERS offers a number of educational resources – from webinars and recorded presentations, to a plan selection workbook and counseling – to help you make that decision.
Once you make your decision, register for an OPERS online account and you can select your plan online.

Refunding your account
After leaving OPERS employment, you have the option to refund your contributions, thereby receiving 100% of your employee contributions (the 10% of your salary that you contributed).
